Central heating dilemma

Hi everyone
I bought my first property 2 years ago now ( 2 bed terraced ), its in a OK'ish area, and is around 20 years old.... however it doesnt have Central heating, and instead relies on the old Economy 7 storage heaters.
The house has 2 x storage heaters downstairs and 2 panel heaters upstairs in the bedrooms.
After going through two winters like this, aswell as topping up the heat with a oil filled radiator, I dont think I can take much more.
Ideally, id love to have central heating installed, but we are probably going to be staying in the property a further 2 years ( maybe 3 winters ) so dont want to spend lots of money on the property.
The property already has a gas mains connected to it as their used to be a gas cooker in the kitchen. This means I would need 1 x boiler, 4 radiators and 1 towel radiator.
Any idea how much the going rate would be for this kind of installation? I would probably be able to pay between 2 - 3k but have no idea if that would be enough!
I suppose doing this would make the property more "sellable" when it comes to putting it on the market in a couple of years time!?
Any advice appreciated.

I would certainly get a couple of quotes....theres no harm in pricing it up.
We have just had central heating installed in an economy 7 property and yes I think it will make the house more attractive to potential purchasers for you and tennants for us.
We paid £6250 for all our plumming work which also included plumbing for new bathroom so its difficult to give an estimate based on what you need ...but we had....a good boiler and 7 radiators of various sizes and all pipework concealed as much as possible..so I am aware that we have paid more than a basic cost in order to get exactly what we want
We did get a quote from british gas simply because when we had a system installed a few years ago at home they did work out the cheapest, although that wasnt the case this time, their quote came in at just over £7500.
Lots of people are put off by no central heating when purchasing so IMO if you have the chance to do it then its a good selling point laterfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
For the system and install £3-4k depending on the boiler chosen. Major works to replumb the current hot water system, or building work in the area where the boiler will go could increase this.0
