How do we get promised PPI refund from Barclaycard?

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone is in the same position as my partner. He had a letter from Barclaycard several months ago confirming he is due a PPI refund of over £15000. He has been into his local Barclays branch on numerous occasions now and each time Barclays promised the money will be in his account within 5 days or 10 days but months on he still hasn't received it. We don't know what to do and desperately need the money.
Any similar experiences or advice???

Clearly unacceptable, E-Mail the chief executive of Barclays with all the details.0

I'm having the same problem, It has been almost 10 weeks since they have recieved my acceptance letter with my bank details and still nothing. I've called them about 4 times and each time told different times scales, they said 28 days the first time I called, then after 28 days I called back they said 5 days, then nothing, I called again they said if you havnt had the money in say 4-5 months call again!! They are a total joke!! we are all loosing interest on our own money!
If you manage to get an email for them can you let me know please, or if anyone on here has an email for someone high up in the company can you please post it on here.
Thanks0 -
The branch wont be able to help as they dont deal with the complaints nor redreses it. Your best bet is to do what moneyineptitude said or contact them via the telephone number on your response letters.
Also for pachacherry, they should update the calculation before redress so you wont lose interest.0 -
Thanks for all the replies so far - please keep them coming.
We have looked up the executive officers of Barclaycard and the CEO for Barclaycard Business & International is Valerie Soranno Keating, but we have no idea how to get an email address for her. Any ideas on that one. We fear that an email will just get "lost" before it gets anywhere near the lady herself!
Pachacherry - sorry to hear you are having same problem but at the same time it's good to know we are not the only ones. Let's hope we both get a result soon.
Roonaldo, thanks for the information about not losing interest. That's good to know.0 -
Paul Maddox is the Head of Complaints - he was in the news recently, beginning of September.
With any PPI Redress where they have held onto the money for over a month after agreeing to pay you, you could threaten them with the simple 8% rate on top of that - so in theory your 15k claim will be 1,200 per year of delay or £100 per month of delay.
If everybody demanded that then they'd get much faster at paying!
Maybe as part of one's acceptance people should say: "... as long as you pay me within 30 days. If you do not then I'll re-submit the claim and insist that you to pay at least the additional 8% per month."0 -

If you had read up the thread you'd have seen this was already mentioned:they update the calculation before redress so you wont lose interest.0 -
Once an amount has been offered and accepted - the bank won't be continually updating their calculation.
EDIT; Just found a related part of MSE's advice article:MSE_ADVICE_ARTICLE wrote:"My bank agreed to refund PPI but I'm still waiting, can I speed things up?"
Sadly this is a common, frustrating problem. Banks say it should be within 28 days, but it could be 8-12 weeks. You'll get interest on the payout up to the date it's issued though, so that's a minor consolation. If the delay's unreasonable, there's nothing to stop you contacting it to say you aren't happy, and asking for extra compensation for distress and inconvenience.0
