Twin Centre NYC/Vegas

Hi Everyone,

Me and my partner are planning to go away this November the 26th, and we want 4 nights in NYC and 3 nights in Vegas for £2200 for both of us. We have some quotes (below and spot on our budget) but we have never booked such a large holiday before and was wondering if anyone could recommend a travel agent that they have worked with directly, we can pay in full immediately, I'm just wondering the best route to go down.

This kind of trip is very easy to DIY.

Airline web-sites will let you book flights that include stop offs and you will pay in full immediately.
    So your trip would be
    LHR-NYC Stop over 4 nights NYC-LAS
    Return
    LAS-LHR.
Similarly you can find your own hotels and pay upfront.

If you prefer a TA then ring Trailfinders-they are usually helpful. LowcostUsa may be of use

    IMHO
Going to Vegas for 3 nights after NYC and then going home is not a good use of time.

    BTW
7 nights stateside is not a large holiday

Definitely, though you could also return LAS to LGW.

I'd agree 3 nights in LV after 4 nights NYC isn't long enough.

You will be able to book a very cheap nice hotel in Vegas (unless your dates clash with a big event, and actually you ought to check whether that's over Thanksgiving which is one of the biggest USA holidays and likely to push prices up). NYC is relatively pricey but there are bargains to be had (possibly not over Thanksgiving though)

What hotels are in the deal you've found and who are the flights with? We can see if it's possible to reduce that by DIY.

You could do online yourself easily enough you dont have to use an agent.

However with only 7 days I dont think its a good idea.

4 nights in NYC really equals 3 full days as first is just getting there and then a few hours to do stuff before you fall asleep with jet lag.

Then your 3 nights in Vegas will equal one day mainly travelling, and then 2 days.

Its not enough for either place. Id just pick one and stay there for a week. Then do the other another time. Or extend it to 10 nights at least.
  • Hi, we booked our honeymoon trip to West Coast America with a company called Travel Centre. They are in Norwich, but would deal with customers anywhere. It was a great personal service, and they are America Experts. I think they are independent, and managed to get us our stay much cheaper than if we did it DIY. The number is: 01603 627224, website: travel-centre.co.uk

I think that 3 nights in Vegas is enough personally, it's a mad place, great to see, but could not imagine spending much more time there. We stayed 4 nights, but we spent a day of that on a Grand Canyon trip, then another at the Hoover Dam. Good fun to be had at the Gun Store shooting range too!

I can't comment on having enough time in New York, but the jet lag will work in your favour to cram it in, you'll be awake and ready to go exploring early morning.
