exactly KS - the vendor selling the house to F&P is buying onwards & it's HIS mortgage offer that runs out at the end of the week

as long as your F&P have exchanged with the 'vendor' who has the short mortgage offer, it doesnt matter. The 'vendor' cannot pull out of that part of the sale regardless of their own sale falling through.

The mortgage offer in question is for the Vendors onward Purchase falling through. the Vendors sale is the transaction that the OP F&P are involved in..

    just thought I'd update:

it was another "tactic" by the vendor :(

On the 25th, the vendor said he needed to exchange & complete by the 28th or the sale wouldn't happen. F&P happy to exchange, but their lender unable to transfer funds in time so they offered a completion date of this coming Friday. Vendor annoyed & blustered a lot & then went very quiet.

F&P signed exchange documents on Thursday & offered a completion date again. Vendor still not contactable throughout a very nail-biting Thursday & friday morning. My friend finally got the call to say they'd exchanged around Friday lunchtime

It seems that the vendor was up to his old tricks again, but it seems like it's at last coming together for them after a very difficult conveyancing. fingers crossed that this won't turn into another WelshWoofs thread in 5 day's time!

All went well & they completed yesterday & are very happy this is now all behind them

weirdly however, they've just realised that the previous owners have stuck a bit of hardboard up at one of the ground floor windows (keeping up the net curtains!) then papered it all over so you wouldn't even know there was a window there
