NCB between husband and wife

My car is in my husbands name and has always been insured in his name using his NCB but with me as the main driver (we have done this for the last 15/20 years as he has a company car). This has been fine until this year when the RAC would not accept his NCB but needed it to be in my name as I was the main driver although they were happy to transfer his NCB to my name.
Has anyone else come across this? I am worried that next year we will have a problem trying to insure the car again if the NCB is not in the name of the policyholder, we will probably have to transfer the car into my name.
My husband is an insurance broker and has never come across this before!

  • There will be no issues with you being the policyholder and insuring your husbands car in your name..... it is when its friends cars or cousins where insurers are less happy with the arrangement
