Sarnies or butties,whatever you call them.I love sardines but havent got any inspiration for what else to mix with with on a sandwich.Any ideas?

Ok I know its sounds disgusting but I like mine with a pickled onion sliced up on top:o0 -
My mum always used to bone them first, then roughly mash with a good slosh of malt vinegar. A slice or two of tomato on top and there you go.
My eldest daughter prefers to do similar with pilchards but in that case adds a good dollop of mayonnaise.0 -

Yes, eat the bones
Mash up with a splash of Worcester sauce, some chopped onion, salt and pepper. Make into sandwiches with cucumber slices.0 -
mmm sardine sandwiches. When I was pregnant I ate sardine and avocado sandwiches. Sounds revolting but they are gorgeous and I still eat them like that now!0

My mum would fry some tomatoes and onion with a bit of salt and pepper to go with sardines. Lovely.0
