I think i have £2500 in savings i am going to get that checked. i have reclaimed £120 in charges so far am awiting court dates for 2 cases and the info for 5 more cards. im also looking into claiming ppi rebates and lpi rebates on the new fsa ruling.

You could pay off your Barclaycard, your Capital One Card and your Abbey card with this, all of which you are paying over 20% interest. If you are saving for a rainy day then it would be better to pay off your debts and if that day ever comes, you can always fall back on the credit card again. If it doesnt you'll get rid of a few of your annoying debts and then it will be easier to snowball the rest. Having less debt spread around makes it more controllable. This would also reduce your outgoings a bit more (every little helps) as you would not have to make the minimum payments on them. By making only the minimum payment with APRs that high you are probably not paying much off them at all.

Have you talked to Payplan or CCCS about a DMP? You DO NOT NEED your OH's permission to do this, he doesn't even have to know about it.

I just worked out that if you did this your outgoings would only be £40 more than your income. You could stop the gym membership. How about also asking your dad if you could pay him say £100 a month instead of £125 or would he wait for his money and allow you to pay off other debts?

Hi Shamu. I know your OH is being extremely unhelpful and will not agree to you lowering the amount you put into the joint account each month. This must be an extremely stressful situation for you.

But what would he do if you just lowered it anyway? Presumably you pay this by standing order and therefore have the power to change it without his say so. How would he react? Is he violent or just being miserable and unhelpful?

If the latter, perhaps it may be best to just lower it to an amount that works and explain afterwards that you tried to talk to him but that as he wouldn't listen you had to take matters into your own hands. If he's violent then it's not worth the risk.

I think you should use this to pay off your Capital One Mastercard and your Barclaycard, then chuck the rest of it at your Abbey card. This will immediately make you feel better as you will be rid of two debts and a third will be well on the way to being paid off. You minimum payments will go down, thus decreasing your outgoings. Could you ask your dad to wait for his money while you deal with your other debts?
