I hope you can help, I will try to explain things best as I can.
I live in a flat with Storage heaters which I have managed to master with your help. I am on the Economy 7 plan and this is proving very cost effective.
I have an electric shower which I use for my hot water in the bathroom.
However I can't seem to get hot water from my taps in the kitchen or bathroom basin or bath taps.
I have checked that our immerser in a thermal jacket is well ventilated.
In my kitchen I have a little unit with 2 buttons on it, 1 called boost which is supposed to bring the water on at any time.
I hope you can shed some light on the problem as I can't really afford to pay some one. The people I bought the flat off of left no paperwork.
I was thinking about contacting Scottish Power my supplier but I don't know if they would be able to help.
Any ideas would be great thanks.

I am just off of the phone to Scottish Power and they are not interested. They are only concerned with faults with the supply. Oh well it was worth a 5 minute call.0

After pressing boost does any lights come on?
After pressing boost wait an hour or so and see if you have hot water .
Check all hot water switches are on, they may one one in the kitchen and also one near the cylinder .
Check all switches on the fuse box are on .
If the system is as I think the main bulk of hot water is heated up overnight by the cheap economy 7 electric, make sure this is turned on and check for hot water in the morning .
If all the above fails it would probably be that the immersion heater element(s) or less likely thermostat has failed.

ps. To "see" if it is working turn the boost switch on and if its working ( using electric) the wheel on the meter should start spinning much faster .On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.0 -
the immersion heater element is the most likely cause of any failure.Get some gorm.0

Thanks for your advice, All the switches are in the right postion. I think there may be a problem with the boost control. When I switch off the main electric switch in the flat the boost light stays on which is rather worrying.0
