Car insurance - does this seem right?

Hi
My husband got his first car last year, his insurance with Tesco was £3000 (about £600 of that was interest!), this year, we've been getting quotes for around £1000.
I'm shocked at the difference?? He's over 25 (and was when took out the first year insurance). Does one year no claims really make this much difference?
I'm not complaining of course but more concerned we're doing something wrong :rotfl:
Thanks

The first year's NCD does make a big difference. And he is now no longer a "novice".
(Many novices take more than a year to be claim free and earn it)0 -
Did he just pass his test last year too or did he do that when he was younger and just didnt have a car?
One years NCD is typically/ traditionally around a 30% discount0 -
Just double check all the documents. Make sure they didnt give hime 10 years no claims instead of one.
If its a comparison site quote then treble check everything. Lots of posts here lately where they bump the premium up because the system didnt declare everything.
Check for mistakes and make sure you correct them.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
