Worldstores do not touch with a bargepole

Bought and paid for a Leather Otterman (under storage ) Bed. Payment was taken quick enough.

Bed was delivered looking like it had been kicked around the van or warehouse or both, held together by shed loads of sellotape, there was some damage to the bed sides but it was underneath so couldn't be seen.Not a good start.

Assembled the bed with Instructions, well more like pictures than instruction, obviously drawn by someone dependent on hallucinating drugs.And ripped in half during a trip round the van or warehouse.

So bed nearly assembled, we only need to attach the "gas link cylinders"...........job done !!!!!!

Gas lift cylinders don't move, stuck solid they neither go up/down or round and round !!!!!

Called World stores 0844 931 1005, 10 mins later, call answered, customer support said they would "send replacements".
Sent e-mail to complain. No reply to e mail.

Replacements sent, they are 4 inch shorter than originals, furthermore one had been used (wear marks) on side. If I fitted these (and I'm not) the bed wouldn't rise up enough, I would have to be 3 and 1/2 foot tall to store under it !!!!

Rang 0844 931 1005 again (how much do these numbers cost?), Mr helpful (or so i thought), answered. He will send out NEW REPLACEMENTS to arrive in 2 days, No replacements arrived after 2 days, they still haven't after 8 days.

Rang 0844 931 1005 for the 3rd time, again 10 mins later call answered explained the situation again.
I was told that the NEW CYLINDERS were sent out yesterday,good I thought, anyway he would chase it up with the couriers and get back to me !!!!!!!!

He called back, they weren't sent yesterday, in fact they were never sent , that's probably why I hadn't got them then !!!

So..............He will send them tomorrow, it taken nearly 3 week to sort if they come at all, but I am not holding my breath.

DONT TOUCH THIS SET OF RIP OFF CLOWNS WITH A BARGE POLE.

ps sent another e-mail I wonder if they reply to that, I will update later

    Just had a e-mail from Dave at Worldstores

    Thank you for your email, Please accept our sincerest apologies for recieving your order damaged. If you wish to have the bedframe collected can you provide us with a collection date that is convenient to you. Please be advised that the eariest date is Thursday 27/9/12 and this is an all day service between 8am - 6pm. On receipt of the returned item we will process a full refund for you.

    Well thank you Dave Thursday 27/9/12 is good for me.

    If they are as good at collecting as they are at delivering it will be more like collected in the next month or so !!!!!!!..............maybe.

    Had a phone call from Worldstores CS possibly because when I e-mailed them I put a link to this complaint, I dont think they liked being ranted about on MSE.

    Anyway they offered to replace the parts with new, working parts, delivered by Next Day delivery, furthermore they would refund £50 as a good will gesture.

    I an pleased to say they delivered their promises, bed working now, money refunded, so well done Worldstores, see it wasn't too hard to play the game.

    All's well that ends well but...........................I still dont like the idea that after sales support is a premium number.

    I also think that they should have replied to my first e-mail complaint and not wait until I had posted my complaint on MSE.

    For anybody struggling to get some action out of this god awful company email the following:

    that'll get their attention as that emails everyone in the company including the CEOs.

    World Stores are not some huge multi billion pound operation. They are a small outfit that use internet branding to create the illusion of a large company - essentially they are a dropshipping outfit - order from them and the dropshipper or manufacturer will actually deliver to you. They are based at Regal House in Twickenham which is a serviced office outfit.

    Still people shouldn't touch them with a bargepole as:
    (1) They do not comply with internet regs in not displaying a UK address
    (2) They do not display a UK landline and rely on a 0844 disposable barbeque type number
    (3) The only other contact is by webform
    The man without a signature.
  • I too had a very bad experience with WorldStores. I ordered a sliding wardrobe that was apparently in stock and available for immediate delivery. When it didn't turn up I tried calling the support line. 60 minutes later on a non geographic number I hung up after no answer. You were very lucky to even get answered by these comedians. Another hour in queue a few days later and 10 e-mails over a 3 month period demanding a refund I eventually went via my credit card company who refunded my card straight away. Interestingly, if you ring the sales line you get answered in less than 5 seconds but surprise surprise, they can't but you through to customer support. I've read many blogs like this one condemning the disgraceful service offered by this tin pot organisation. **DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE***

    Do many people carry bargepoles these days?
    I took mine out of my bag last week because I had no-one to touch with it.
    just passing through.... Nothing to see....
