Thanks guys, but we had the price bumped it because of the plate (which is apparently worth £500. (H11 SSL)
We have a buyer for the car so it's good to know that they don't need to do anything to get it transferred.
The owner also has the original plate in the boot so I guess it will up to the new owner what they choose to do plate wise!
Thanks guys!

Er, no, you cannot just decide which plate to use, the car is currently register as H11 SSL, and that how it must stay, and the plate that must be used unless you get it re-registered, and there is no guarantee that the number plate you have will be the correct new registration!
Its a serious offence to drive round in a car with the wrong plates on!0 -

I think they meant its up to the new owner is they choose to keep the H11 plate or transfer it off. Give them some credit......I wouldn't assume people are dumb enough to think they are choose which plate to have and just swop them over."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -

Agreed, although once the OP sells the car, it is irrelevant to them what the new owner does."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
If the numbers still on a beemer convertible, the next owner is likely to stick their own vanity plate on anyway.0

I did mean that its up to the new owner what they do plate-wise.. If they want to take off the pvt plate and revert back to stand DVLA, that's up to them and obvs also up to them to get it sorted.. So telling me about the law is irrelevant anyway lol.
Thanks all!0
