WTC renewal questions...

Hi,
I just wanted to ask a few questions regarding renewing WTC on behalf of my partner.
He has been claiming since may this year, I understand that he has to renew by july 31st next year - when is the earliest it can be done?
Also - is it done by form or by post? What information is required? Does he need to show bank statements or payslips?
Thanks in advance guys - just gotta get my head around it then will explain to my partner:p

All renewal forms are sent out shortly after the end of the tax year so your partner can expect to receive his renewal sometime after 6th APRIL 2013. They arrive between end of April until June time.
Your partner then has until 31st July 2013 to either return the renewal by post or he can telephone the helpline to renew.
Until he receives a renewal form he cannot renew. It is not possible to do it before the form arrives.
Renewing really is quite simple. All he will have to do is provide his income details for the year which he will find on his p60 from his employer.
Once the form is sent back , he will receive his new award notice for the tax credits due to him for the year ahead. If he is owed any from this year this will be paid to him , usually as a lump sum . If he has been overpaid then he will be asked to repay , if there is an overpayment an amount will usually be deducted from his new award to claw back the overpayment if he is still entitled to tax credits. If he isnt then a repayment plan will be agreed with HMRC .
Hope this helps. The loopy one has gone :j0 -

Is it a joint claim? If you are partners then you may need to be claiming jointly in which case you will also need to provide details for the renewal.
