Broadband - Wanadoo v. BT

Tried all day to register for Wanadoo Broadband. Error message re: incompatible service, phone BT. BT don't want to know, say it's Wanadoo's problem and guess what - Wanadoo says its BT's fault! Screaming and shouting heard from my house throughout the village. Anybody else suffered the same? Any suggestions?

Suffered similar in summer last year, registered with Wanadoo, and was told it would take 10 working days, during this time i went on holiday and came back on the 10th working day to find out my broadband hadnt been activated.
Rang wanadoo, asked them what was the problem, they said BT
Rang Bt told them that wanadoo had blamed them, so they blamed wanadoo
basically i was getting passed back and forth for a bit, so i rang wanadoo and told them to cancel it, ill go with another broadband provider, amazing the broadband came on the same day, amazing what the treat of cancellation can do.
Just tell them youll pay someone else for the internet service and see what they do.0 -
Btw, let me know how you get on.0

Personally I would'nt bother with either of them, I went to Metronet and am more than happy.

but if Metronet use Bt Wholesale Broadband as their network supplier then she will have the same problem ???
sometimes the supplier does not want to admit that their Online system is faulty and has not passed on the order for the exchange work to BT. Also in the small print it does say supply is subject to satisfactory line tests by BTEx forum ambassador

go to https://www.adslguide.org for all probs with broadband, all suppliers are listed individually and you can see what probs peeps are having with each one etc etc0

Our local radio station has lots of listeners who write in with Wanadoo problems so I would be wary about using them. It is certainly worth checking out https://www.adslguide.org and I can personally recommend PlusNet although you can only subscribe to them online AFAIK (can be a bit of a problem if you don't have internet access yet
