PPI Claim - Old MBNA Joint Loan

Hi
I'm new to the site and would really appreciate some advice/help.
A long time ago (it could be around 10 years ago) I took out a joint loan with an Ex boyfriend. The loan was to consolidate debts and was over £10k.
The loan had PPI, the Ex was made redundant so I tried to claim and was told I couldn't. No I can't exactly remember if it was because the loan was principally in my name and he was just named on it, or whether the PPI was just in my name. Either way I believe I was mis-sold the PPI.
My problems are:
1. I don't have any details and just an approximate date
2. The loan was taken out jointly (I think) and the Ex currently resides in America

Is there any point in me pursuing or even starting enquiries about this?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Might as well give it a try, costs you nothing apart from a bit of time and potentially a stamp etc.
  • If you are successful in your claim they will make the cheque payable to you both (and I would suggest both of you may need to sign off the claim) so You need to ask yourself first whether he would play ball and help you.
