Can I transfer 2 balances to 1 card

Hi guys,
I have a M&S credit card with a balance of £900 and the interest free period is over so they are charging interest.
I also have a Virgin Credit card with a balance of £2500 which is on its last month of interest free period.
My question is, can I transfer both the amounts onto 1 single card and if I can, how do I clarify this on the application online? or am I better off applying for two different balance transfers?
Also If I do manage to get it transferred over, shall I close both of them down or one of them as I heard having a line of credit is good, my Virgin has £6000 limit and M&S has £4000 limit.
Thanks good people :T

You can transfer as many balances as you want onto a card as long as your limit allows for them. You would need to get a card with a limit of approx £4000 to allow for the two other cards you mentioned. When you apply online for the new card it will ask you about balance transfers and you just fill in the card numbers and balances for both, its very easy. Just remember you will pay a handling fee for both transfers
You are also better to close any cards you do not plan to use after you have paid them off.:)0 -

Yes, no problem.
Probably best to wait until the card is active then do the transfers. If you ask on the application form, you have no control and little visibility over whether or when the transfers take place, and you could end up missing a payment if you think it's happened when it hasn't.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
