San Francisco phone not turning on

Hi all, I need some help. I have a orange San Francisco phone about 18mths old and was working fine until this morning when I went to charge it as usual.

The phone made a short buzzing/vibration sound that was different from usual about 2/3 mins after beginning to charge. About an hour later I checked and saw that it had turned itself off. Strange I thought!

I went to turn it on again to charge thinking maybe I forgot to turn it on the first time or something. But now every-time I press the on button on the top of the phone the screen stays blank and I get the buzzing/vibration sound. If I hold the button down the buzzing sound keeps going. But again the screen stays blank and the phone will not turn on.

I took the battery out for a few mins to see if that made a difference but same thing when I went to turn it on....buzzing and blank screen.

Ant ideas how to fix this or what's wrong. I'm not a very accomplished tech guy but I think I'm using Swedish Spring rom from memory. Since I got the phone this is my first hint of any sort of propblam.

What about booting it into ClockworkMod? .. does that work?

Turn on the phone while holding the volume down button ...

Or maybe try it without the SD card installed , if you have one ..

Not sure what else to recommend sadly ..

I'm assuming the Turn on the phone while holding the volume down button ....... is the way you start via the clockwork mod that I remember is installed in the phone when I added the Swedish Spring mod.

But no luck.
