Paying one credit card with another!

in Credit cards
Just wondered if anyone knew anything about this subject??
First and foremost I will point out that I don't do credit. I only take out credit cards for my benefit and not the car issuers benefit!!
Previously had a Lloydstsb Duo card which I have been racking up Avios with. But just recently got myself a American Express Nectar card. As I do my shopping etc.. at Sainsburys and fill up at Sainsburys , I have just obtained the card for extra points.
My question is, can I keep both cards and use the Lloydstsb card to pay off the American Express Nectar card and earn points on both, or will the Lloydstsb card recognise this as a credit card balance payment and not let me earn the Avios? or worse still charge me interest or a fee?
Just a quick thought before the Lloydstsb card gets the chop!

In short no it is not possible except as a balance transfer as this is what it is.
Yes you will be charged a fee and if it is not 0% then yes you will be charged interest.
The only thing to look at is if the Lloyds one is offering a period of 0% balance transfer where it may attract avios points per £1000 transferred in one go.
But as you have no balance this will be little if any use to you.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
That would be a balance transfer and not a purchase and so will not earn you points but will incur a transfer fee (normally around 3%)0

Thought it might be classed as a balance transfer. Thanks for the clarification.0
