Egg!!!!

I have had an Egg card since December. it was advertised as 9 months at 0% on BT's and Purchases, which I thought meant it all ended in September 2005

I did a BT right away. However I've only just made a purchase on the card of £60 and having just read the terms noticed that whilst BT's are 0% until September, Purchases are only 0% until July.

Grrrr, I don't want to have to BT all the money off the card prematurely (ie before Sept) so I will have to pay a small amount of interest on £60 for 2 months.

Am I right in thinking that it works this way - the monthly payments pay off the 0% BT whilst the puchase accrues interest?

I worked out that I will have to pay about £1.50 for 2 months at 14.9% on £60. Can someone confirm this is correct?

Thanks.

You can take the item back and get a refund. You then pay cash for it. I have done this with Barclaycard

I'm not sure if this will work with Egg. My car insurance co took some money of the card without telling me, and although it was then refunded Egg treated the 'refund' as a 'card payment' so it came off the 0% BT and didn't clear the payment. I managed to get a hefty discount off my insurance by complaining, but I'd check how you stand with Egg before assuming it'd work...
