My 15 year old, normally satisfied with whatever clothes I get, has asked for a pair of Van shoes, cost 39.95. Anyone know the best place to get them for less? I belive they are Skater shoes - though they look like the kind of sneakers kids wore in the 50's!

There are Vans retail outlets about the place - i go to one at the McArthur Glen outlet in Bridgend - they normally have a few styles in there at around £10-15.
I agree with the first reply though - a pair of vans for £40 is pretty good in the first place, could be a lot worse.0

Picked up my last pair in the Schuh sale online for £20, no sales on at the moment but worth keeping an eye on.0

They have an outlet in Las Vegas that is dirt cheap - you're talking like a fiver a pair. DH and I went trainer shopping there on our wedding day. I realise its a bit far to go for shoes, but if you know someone who is heading that way, it would be worth begging them to bring some back for you, as those type of trainers don't seem to date as quickly as the adidas/nike type and so it would be worth stocking up.:j Baby bonce was born on Christmas morning after a ridiculously short labour and no pain relief! They have a Vans outlet in Cheshire Oaks which is surprisingly in Cheshire! Although last time we were there they were around the £40 mark anyway, I was gutted, I'd been promised really cheap trainers! (I got sketchers instead for half that price and am very happy with them btw!)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0

These guys are good, and they have loads of different brands. I bought my son a pair of etnies (waaaay cool) for about 30 quid, and have just ordered a paid of adios for him, again for about 30 quid.
(If your son is actually skating, you'll find he goes through shoes like nobody's business, so you're going to need to shop around!)Threadhead0

If you are anywhere around Oxfordshire the outlet at Bicester Village has a Vans shop (check if it's still there though!) - I bought 2 pairs for £17 total last Jan (they were on bogof at the end of the sale), so that might be worth a look.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0

You can get really good bargains through the schuh shop on ebay, its like a clearance of old lines, overstock etc. Occasionally they are display pairs and have slight marks but there are lots in perfect condition. They list more pairs every day so set yourself a limit and if they go above that keep an eye out for another pair!
