SDPC Query

Hello,

I have car insurance with 'Social, Domestic, Pleasure & Commuting(to 1 place of work)' cover. I occasionally pick up my partner from her place of work as well. Would this be covered under my policy?

Thanks.

Are you insured for hire and reward? I presume you get rewarded.

Or are you married? Sorry. I couldnt resist. :D

Picking your partner up will be social and domestic.

SDP&C is only if the driver is commuting iirc. If you are picking someone up, it's not commuting. The only way the plod would pull you up about it, is if you had your work gear on, or said you were on your way to work, and the certificate specified only SDP on it.

Having said that, it's usually only pennies to add commuting to insurance, in my case, it added £0 to the premium, but I drive a high-end car, and the insurance was already relatively high lol...
