I've only just started and had no instant beginners luck , tbh im not expecting anything but obviously hoping to get a bit of luck.
Also not bothering with minor comps as i dont see the point in wasting time for a pair of oven gloves or a DVD , just entering worthwhile comps , Holidays , cars , electronics , vouchers etc...0 -

It's an interesting point. The thing is that if you only go in for bigger/popular prizes, you will be up against more entrants and fewer prizes. So less likely to win.
Each to their own, of course. But for me, I like doing a mix, because while it's fabulous to get a big win, it keeps me going to get more little wins. Most days I get a little something. It might be a freebie perfume sample, a small survey payment, a small cosmetic win, or a rarer bigger prize. But then I walk into the bathroom or kitchen and see all the products I won, or got free to product test, and I love it.
But as I say, each to their own
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!
When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.0 -
I've been entering as many as I find on the competition board for about three weeks now, and I also religiously do several dailies but I haven't won anything yet. I will keep going though.
I refuse to enter either Facebook or Twitter competitions, so that often greatly cuts down the number of entries I can make. I'd really like it if there was an easy way to filter out those (FB & Twitter) comps from the board. Maybe there is and I just haven't found it!0 -
I've always had a gambling streak, and when I was a kid I used to love those arcade machines where you drop in the 2p coin and it pushes the others over the ledge. Sometimes you go for ages putting in the coins and get nothing back, and then you will win a load.
This is what comping is like for me, if I don't win for a few weeks, it's like the coins are all building up for a big windfall (hopefully!) and that's what keeps me going.
Of course, it helps that I find it tremendous fun entering them all in the first place!
Good luck to you all
Huge respect to all those who take the time to post competitions. You're all great! :T0 -

Ye i see where you and others are coming from entering the smaller comps , for me i cant bring myself to enter comps with prizes i have no interest in , its time consuming enough just entering the worthwhile comps im finding ,,,,,,, like you say i'll probably be waiting sometime but hopefully its worth it in the end , i could do with a new Lap-top

I've gone months without wins, but I enjoy just entering them and dreaming what I would do with it

You've got to be in it to win it, as they say
 Thank you to everyone!
 Officially addicted to Comping :eek:0 -
I have been entering competitions since may ish and sometimes spend a couple of hours each night but sometimes I miss days (i've a four year old and seven month old so it depends how tired i am after they've gone to bed lol) i've won some brownies, babyfood and money off vouchers and a t shirt so far obviously nothing compared to some people's winnings but a win is a win and those brownies tasted better than any i've had before lol. I'm keeping going until at least January 9th which is when I go back to work after my maternity leave finishes and if i've no bigger wins up to then (value of £50 plus), then I might give up!0
