re-bank change over

hi guys, my daughter has just told nationwide to change her coop a/c to flexi.including dd.s wages etc. she,s got her n/w card, wages go in to coop 28/9th then change over. does n/w close the coop, or coop close it, or can she still keep it open as a back up a/c?

    sorry basfordlad;
    1 daughters made arrangements for nationwide to take over her main a/c from coop, including dd,s and wages.
    2.does N.w or Coop auto close the coop bank or can daughter retain it just for a back up A/c?

    No you should close it yourself. but no harm leaving it open just in case

    You should leave the old account open with some money in it, to catch any payments that have not transferred across properly. Also to catch any incoming payments you might have forgotten about.

    Best to arrange things so that any errors will cause the least amount of hassle.

    Only close the old account after a few months when you are absolutely positive the new account is up and running correctly. And even then, you may want to leave it open as backup.
