Curtain track for bay window

Can anyone recommend a corded curtain track that can be bent to fit round a bay window (needs to be fixed from the ceiling)? The track will need to be roughly 4 meters long. I’m going to need to buy two as we have a bay window in the living room and master bedroom.

I went into Paul Simon and they recommended a track but it wasn’t corded. I’ve seen online that B&Q sell one but it doesn’t have very good reviews.

Also am I right to think that we’ll need curtains that are twice the width of the window to make sure there’s enough gather? I think we’ll have to buy two sets of curtains and sew them together to get some that are wide enough. I’ve looked at made to measure prices and they are very expensive.

The bay windows are lovely but such a pain to get curtains

1.5 to 2 times the width depending on how "wrinkly" you like your curtains when drawn. Its usually pretty easy to get these widths from either full drops or half drops.

We have a bay window track from b&q without a cord and its fine but it did need some furniture polish on it to make it glide properly - before applying it it was sticking very badly.

I had terrible trouble finding a track to fit our bay windows. The ones I brought for B&Q just did not work and I had to scrap them in the end (even tried furniture polish which did improve them. In the end I bit the bullet and got one made to measure. It has been brilliant. I got it from these guys who sell it at least 15% cheaper than other places I have seen them.

    Good luck.

Yes, if you like some gather even when they are closed I would go with 2 x width.

you dont necessarily have to sew the curtains together, if you just sew the top 'hems' together they will just follow on and fall naturally
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
