I am moving into a house in a couple of months and looking at changing form utility warehouse to Scottish Gas as rate is stick for 2 winters. I do not know how much the house uses as I have not moved in but any advice would be good.
Thanks

You can't do anything until your tenacy (or ownership) begins which is usually the day you move in.

You then need to register with the existing supplier of the premises.

Only then can you look to change to a different supplier/tariff available to new applicants.

(Some may suggest it is possible in advance, but based on those who have tried, such attempts invariably end in tears)

I hope that you have already registered your details with UW and are their customer.

If you have set your heart on Scottish Gas fixed then you can switch to that now just contact them or do it online. You will get a final bill from UW for the gas/electric used til now. Best to do it now as the suppliers seem to be pulling their fixed deals.

If you still have an open mind then use a comparison site such as energyhelpline, put in the national average figures of 16500 kwh gas and 3200kwh electric and that will show you the cheapest suppliers but NOT what your bills will be as you do not know your usage yet.
