O2 and their faulty phones!

I have to say that my Blackberry from O2 served me well through the first 18months of my 24 month contract. And when the trackpad broke I thought it was wonderful that they would send it off for repair and everything would be fine again albeit in a weeks time.

A week came and I recieved a replacement phone as they couldn't fix mine in the usual time. This seemed like good customer service, until I started to use the phone. I couldn't set up the email settings on my blackberry as there was a software issue. The same issue prevented me from accessing the app world. I did not get the blackberry for its web access or its app world, but for its email capabilities. I had to return it the next day.

A week later and I find out that my phone has been replaced and returned to the o2 store. They ring me to ask when I will be collecting it, refusing to let me collect it last Friday or at the weekend due to the iphone release. I went in today to collect it and set it up instore. They are unable to set it up as it has no charge in the battery. I take it home and try to set it up. This time I am able to set up the email, but only if I am a business user with access to the blackberry enterprise server. Unfortunately I am a personal user.

So after 30 minutes talking to a guru online and a further 30 minutes on the phone to O2 I find out they have issued me with a phone locked to the blackberry enterprise server. This means they have to replace it again.

Over 2 weeks of no data access and a series of 4 blackberrys. What I initially thought was good customer service has ended up pretty bad. They say that as I don't pay for data I'm not entitled to a partial refund on this months contract.

Just a little (long) vent that it is not always as it seems

That's interesting. I am on a 24month O2 blackberry contract, expires end of October and last month my trackball suddenly stopped responding too. I haven't sent it back or anything as I;m planning to terminate and go back to my trusty old Motorola.

I wonder if this is something intrinsic in the O2 BB to get you to upgrade!
I'll have some cheese please, bob.

I think it's more to do with blackberries being rubbish.
