Payzone Pre-paid Debit Card

Options
I have been sent a free Payzone Pre-paid Debit card. As I am soon going overseas I am unsure about the value of this card - or whether one of the cards that Martin recommends is better. Does anyone have experience of this card? Thank you.

    Hi Juksinkent

According to the payzonemoney.com website, they seem to be discontinuing the 'Payzone Worldwide Money Prepaid MasterCard' -if that's what you have:
"All new customers who order a Payzone Worldwide Money Prepaid MasterCard will now receive our new Swirl Chip and Pin MasterCard instead. If you are an existing customer you will receive a 50% discount if you choose to change over to Swirl. Swirl MasterCard works in exactly the same way as the Payzone Worldwide Money card with some great additional benefits."
The Swirl card fees look pretty expensive to me, compared to other pre-pay cards - but I guess it depends how you plan to use it:

It's no good. Cash Passport Globe is much better for travel.
  • Thank you for the replies. Noted. Am currently looking at the Caxton recommended by Martin as cash withdrawals overseas are free, but haven't decided yet.

You misunderstand. They appear free, because they take a larger chunk as a foreign exchange commission. 2.5%.
The Globe card above also has no withdrawal fee and takes a lesser commission; 1.49%.
