What is the gutter made of - a PVC one would be easy enough to find a suitable glue, although painting it on might be interesting without making a mess. Cast iron old ones might be harder as the expansion etc of the metal will weaken it pretty quickly.Adventure before Dementia!0

Theres gutter sealant. Ideally it should be used as guttering is being put in place.
Or on the inside of the guttering (morelikely to block any holes). You could try it underneath but might struggle to block off the leak. Can you not find a lanky kid and ask them to do it for you for a favour/small charge?! Will literally take a minute.
Most diy stores sell it.0 -
Yes it is PVC when i say paint it ,i dont mean paint i was thinking ther may be a thick tar type gung /glue

Is it a leaking joint or is there may rainwater staying in gutter because of dirt build up in the gutter causing the rainwater not being able to drain away (completely). Make sure that the gutter is clean so that the rainwater won't start to overflow or leak at another point.
Before you start to paint you would want to make sure that there isn't any rainwater near the leak any way. (Today will not be a good day for most places in the UK anyway.
I hope you are able to sort this problem.0 -
Why are we talking about paint? The only thing i could think of is something like roof felt adhesive/sealant and thats just unneccessary (sp) expense and not completely suitable.
Gutter sealant, about £5, can even be applied when wet.
And the op says "on a joint on my guttering as it is leaking".
Sorry to be arsey but why are we making this complicated?!0 -
CT1 either clear or white, but with this or gutter sealant you will need a sealant gun, & if you get CT1 you can use it for other things too, not cheap though.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Thank you one and all0
