Grocery shopping in Orlando

We have rented a house in Orlando. When we rent property for holidays in Cornwall or Wales we now use Tesco to deliver to the property in a time slot soon after we arrive and it saves buying a weeks supply of essentials for a family group of 8. It always works very well.
Now we are planning a two week stay in a house in Orlando. Does anyone know whether the American supermarkets run a similar Shop On-line and Drop system, please?

A quick Google search brings up:

We go to the supermarket very early the first morning as we're always awake at stupidly early o'clock anyway.
Personally, I'd not want to be waiting around for a delivery the evening we arrive ... what if the flight is delayed and you're not there to receive it?2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Thanks, Jackieblack. We are actually flying into Tampa a few days earlier for a couple of days for other reasons so we hope to get possession earlier and then the rest will arrive later in the evening. I was hoping to find some of the big name stores running delivery services but going by two of these sites I am unlikely to and they look as if they are filling the gap.0

If you're happy with ASDA, their American counterpart deliver to some areas, not sure about orlando.

Also out there, Safeway delivery

Thank you. Sadly delivery services seem to be few and far between on the ground unless you live in parts of California or Illinois but I'll keep looking.0

We have used gardengrocer on 2 seperate occasions, we have found it invaluable to know that our shopping would arrive shortly after us. On both occasions we have given them the details of when we should be there but then phone when we have landed just in case we are delayed. Deffinitley recommend.0

Publix is probably the largest grocery/supermarket chain in Florida. Stores located in most areas. Walmart or Target stores also offer groceries and can often be cheaper than supermarkets like Publix, especially the large Walmart Supercentres.
I'm not aware of any supermarket chains offering delivery services In Florida (we are very spoilt in the UK for that!) but many supermarkets will have long opening hours and many Walmarts are open 24h so it should be easy to plan your grocery shopping.
If you are staying on one of the developments along the US27, turning left off the I-4 up from Tampa you will find a Publix a couple of miles down on the left and a large Walmart further on on the right. If staying at Southern Dunes there is a large Walmart by the development entrance. If you have the address of your house you can always go to the Publix, Target and Walmart websites and type in your address (zip code) for the nearest store to your location.0 -
Thank you, both, thet's very useful. Personal experience of gardengrocer is much appreciated. We came across Publix on a previous trip to the Gulf Coast and liked them so I'll look them up before we go.0

Every supermarket must come up with services that makes the buying easier for the customer, only then it is possible to build a strong relationship with a customer and hence loyal customers0

You have posted a total of two posts, neither of which are very helpful to the OP in the threads.
Wadewade, I have found that part of the fun of Orlando is looking at/around the American supermarkets. My suggestion would be to go to Publix/Walmart etc and stock up as then you can choose exactly the item you want. Bit like online shopping here with Tesco/Asda/Waitrose etc where you have your shopping picked by someone else. Not always the best way.0 -
We live in Kissimmee for 6 months each year and there are no supermarkets which deliver near us.
We always write out a shopping list on the flight over to the US and stop off at a supermarket on the way to our villa. Most villas have large fridge freezers so it pays to buy in bulk.
If you have not been to Florida before Walmarts are open 24 hours a day and are a bit like Asda but a lot bigger. Publix are open from around 8am to 10pm and a bit like Sainsburys. There are quite a few Aldi supermarkets that offer good value. Good luck and have a nice holiday.0
