problem with heating on L200 (1999)
Does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix this please.?
Heating was working ok and then just stopped. A few days later eating resumed working, then stopped almost immediately. Is there a temperature control valve or electric thermostate in the system, or fuses for heating system. If so where are they located?
There is plenty of air coming through, engine temp control is working fine, just not heat coming out.
If not any ideas as to what maybe the cause.?
My OH has tried to get a manual for his truck but has been told there are no available after 1994!!!
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Got the aircon switched on?
Is the internal fan working as it should? So its blowing cold air?
Checked the coolant lately?
Checked the drive belts?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Do you have a leak? They did have a reputation for having a weak heater matrix. Check it asap before you do the head an injury.0

Thanks for the replies.
My OH 's L200 does not have air con.
Yes the internal fans are working.
Coolant level is ok.
Drive belts are also ok.
No we seem to have any leaks, no lose of fluids or wet marks at all.
I would like to point out that the problem is getting warm into the cab itself and its not a problem with the engine heating and cooling.
OH having had a look nder the bonnet it looks like the heating system is a bypass system and therefore should have a heater control valve, but he is unable to locate this to check if its working correctly or if all the terminals are still connected or even a fuse gone.
Is there more than one fuse box for the L200 if so where is it, he can see one under the bonnet but with only 4 fuses.
Appreciate any help soon please especially as the mornings are now getting cold. Thanks0 -
If the heater matrix has been by past then you wont get warm air.
How long have you owned it any has the heating ever worked?
The blower heat is fed by the hot engine coolant heating the heater matrix and the air blown into the cabin."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
My OH has owned the car approx 12 months and the heater as always worked both cold and hot air until the last week or so. Its always given out good heat and the truck is quite quick to heat up when started.0

Blocked heater matrix maybe try getting it flushed out.
Or the internal control for the hot/cold is not working. Stuck on cold.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
