Hi there, you need to check if the job is term time only. The back to work credit only pays if you work 15 hours or more 52 weeks of the year. They calculate by doing hours x rate of pay x how many weeks of the year. I was on a 43 week year and doing 15 hours/week so didn't qualify. I think 20 hours will qualify.0

If teaching assistants get paid the same as school teachers, dinner ladies, cleaners op will get paid throughout the holidays too and think you have to be claiming income support 26 weeks before you start work then you will get the £40 per week and £250 job grant xJanuary Grocery Challenge £203.50/£200

Well didn,t realise they calculated the holidays for TA,s to determine enough hours worked.
The post is for 6months initially, with the hope of further funding after.
What happens if they deem I am not working enough hours then for wtc?
I really want to take this job however I am concerned about covering my mortgage too.Currently dwp are paying the interest on the mortgage.I have been on I.S for 26weeks.I am finding it difficult to calculate anything really as I find the information limited if you have a mortgage.0 -
You will be entitled to working tax credits you only have to work 16 hours as a lone parent. I am almost positive you will be paid during holiday time too so shouldnt be a problem, im not sure about the mortgage bit when I was a lone parent 7 years ago I got help with my rent with being on a low wage, you should get some help towards your council tax though and you will get your child benefit and child tax credit too xJanuary Grocery Challenge £203.50/£200
