Speeding fine, Procedure?? How to pay? and is signatures required, for licence points?
when you get a speeding fine, what is the procedure?
eg
1) letter comes in the post ,you have to pay, using card eg.
how does the 3-6 points to the licence come? or do they do it automatically?
or do we have to send our licence in? our paperwork? or not?
what is the procedure, for
1) Paying the fee, and
2) Licence points come off the licence
and is the drivers signature required for any of the above?

I just went to the local court and someone there took the fine money and wrote the points on the licence.
Dont recall signing anything.
I may be wrong here, but if you do it by post, do you not fill in your payment details on a form and post it to them? The licence goes as well?
As for coming back off again, when I updated my photocard a year later, the licence came back with no points on it. Won a watch, that'll save me £20 or so at a later date.0 -
First you send tim form back naming yourself as the driver then see what they offer.0

After telling them who the driver is,
what is the next stage, of them putting the 3 points on their licence ?
does the licence have to be sent in?
or they do it electronically?0 -

Depending on the speed they may offer you the chance to do a speed awareness course (no points, half a day of your time, cost varies by area), or a fixed penalty (3 points and £60). If you want to accept the fixed penalty you'll have to send your licence in along with payment. If you don't accept a course or a fixed penalty, or if they don't offer them because your speed was a long way over the limit, you'll be summonsed to court, where potentially you can get a bigger fine and more points or a ban. After telling them who the driver is,
