I'm no good at maths but I am good with spreadsheets. At home feeling sorry for myself with the cold and kicking myself that I had a voucher capped last night (that'll teach me to go out loaded with a cold). I've been playing about with numbers to see if I can get a simple set of rules to follow given the new cap.

What I have below is based on the Waitys 3 for 2s and assuming you get the cheapest trigger ie pot of rice.

    # items, max total of glitchy, APG ex fillers (av glitchy item cost)

    3 items, £14, £13.54 (2 @ £7)
    6 items, £15, £13.67 (5 @ £3)
    9 items, £16, £13.81 (8 @ £2)
    12 items, £17, £13.99 (11 @ £1.5)

If you can remember 14, 15, 16, 17 (total cost of glitchy items) ....
Then you should be able to match that to 3, 6, 9, 12 (total number of 3for2 items)

I hope the above makes sense but what I've tried to work out is the average price & maximum price (depending what's easier to remember) of the glitchy items and the APG based on those items. The list allows £1+ for any APG you'll get on filler items. My best shop using this theory has been (based on what I buy, not necessarily the best option for everyone):

    Ambrosia - 40p
    Duck Fresh Discs - £2
Duck Fresh Brush Refill - £3
Quaker Oats - Golden Syrup - £2 (multisave of 2 for £4 calculates correctly)
Quaker Oats - Sweet Cinnamon - £2 (multisave of 2 for £4 calculates correctly)
    Alpen - Apple & Sultana - £1.98
    Alpen - Summer Fruits - £1.98
    Alpen - Choc & Fudge - £1.98
    Alpen - Choc & Coconut - £1.98

This gives an APG of £14.73. If anyone can explain it better, please feel free!
Once you account for fillers (if required) and 120g Ambrosia rice pot, and two glitching items, every extra set of three glitching items cost 96p (a quid really).
I know my pot + regular fillers (required or not, I get em anyway) cost £1, then add two glitching items and I calculate my APG.
    Pot + fillers £1
    2 x glitchers (Today Krave @£2.68) £5.36
So then £5.36(price) less £0.64 (glitch price) = APG £4.72

    Three more glitchers (4.38+3.98+2.50) £10.86 less(3 x .32) 96p = APG £9.90
Total APG £14.62 give or take.

But for those not blessed with a maths bent, the sixteen to seventeen quid rule is always going to work (IMO) the important thing is getting the right items in threes.

  • in squigs defence, she was confirming the innocent tubes, not the chocs

I wasn't saying anything to squigs i was just linking my results for things mentioned in case squigs went to try the others as they had had some success with some of the items mentioned so people don't waste money and time, and also in case someone spotted something i did wrong or another way to test it.
