Got an odd one for you guys.
Mate of mine just came in. He's advertised his car in a couple of local rags and gumtree. A fellah emailed him last week saying he'd take his word for the description of the car and needed it for work and would send him a cheque.Value was going to be £900 for the car plus 20 quid the guy offered for taking his word by mail.
Bloke then emailed him a couple of days to see if the cheque had arrived. It arrived today. A bankers draft from an irish bank for £3000. It arrived by airmail from togolaise!!!
Apparently once the money is cleared my mate is to email him so he can organise for the car to be collected.
Sounds like a scam of some description to me but no idea what the angle would be here. Any ideas???0 -

Sounds like a scam to me. Why couldn't he pay cash when he picks the car up?
They ask for the 'extra cash' back and then cancel the bankers order!!0
