Asda ethos has always to just give low prices rather than multibuys.

But Tesco liked multibuys (a throw back to the pile em high and sell them cheap days maybe...) but its also a pyscholgical thing - buy one get one free - people love the word "free". So they are never going to stop doing multibuys.

Waitrose price match Tesco prices on branded items so that in a way forces them to also have multibuys as long as Tesco does.

And Sainsburys have always been in competition with Tesco anyway.

I agree that Tesco have always liked the 3 for 1 ,3 for 2 approach but their marketing strategy was meant to change when they brought in the new head honcho or marketing team 6 months or so back as the company policy stated along the lines that multi buys don't really give the customer what we feel they deserve , that's why we are reducing 100's upon 100's of prices in store every week .
For a month or so they used this approach with banners and in store flyers stating so .
This for some reason has been forgetten by the supermarket chain (maybe it didn't work) and they've slipped back into their old way ...3 for 1 2 for 1 etc .

Due to a serious accident near my home the traffic is grid locked on the roads so on the way home from the school run I decided to drive through the lanes (fourp will know the little village with the Whitecross inn).
I expected to have to reverse due to cars coming the other way but I didn't expect to get stuck because of a herd of cows in the lane. There I was sat in the car with my son shooing the cows away :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

nice place but not when your surrounded by cows and want to get home .
the family used to go up there quite regularly to have a shandy .

happy times and thanks for the memories :)

lets hope no one is seriously injured in the accident .
