I've just checked and it was removed within 4 minutes of it being posted at 9.59am yesterday so I doubt that any journalist was reading that closely or being that quick!

In addition, looking at the deleted post and the one on the news website, some but not all of the text in the post above the memo has been edited out. Not something a journalist would do, selective text editing of a screen image.

Don't know what anyone else thinks. I think it looks like someone has been saving stuff with the intention of passing the story to the press at an appropriate time i.e. when the scheme was altered to a level where it wasn't so profitable anymore (we all knew it was coming)
That's just my opinion and how things look to me:(

Edit- would just like to add to that, I have made no speculation at all of who that might be. Been so many people using the thread lately as well as lurkers

    Xmas Saver!
    Dear Mr Tesco,

I write to you from the World Famous 11+ thread off of MoneySavingExpert.com (That Martin Lewis chaps website).

We have recently liberated thousands and thousands of pounds worth of merchandise at knockdown prices from one of your rival competitors, Mr Asda. They are literally letting us walk out of the shop after paying for shopping with little computer printouts, and then using the receipts we get to print more. It is just like printing Asda Pounds off your computer.

Anyway, as we are World Famous, the pesky press have been writing stories on us, and have had a little chat to Mr Asda about the whole thing.

Mr Asda says we are "A really savvy bunch of shoppers" and the fact we have generated over 2 million views regarding this is "a PR coup".

At the 11+ we are a caring sharing bunch, and don't like it when just one company gets to receive the benefits of our attention, so I am writing to you wondering if you would also like to take part in our "PR coup".

At this moment in time we would be greatful if you could arrange glitches on the following items:

Clothing, especially umbrellas and winter coats, hats gloves etc. But we are OK for mens socks ;)
Toys (for the kids, christmas is coming),
Dishwasher tablets (ours are lovely and clean already, just need something to clean the dishes),
Laundry detergent, (cos we like clean clothes)
Shower gels/soap etc (we have lovely clean hair, but the rest of us needs to be clean too),
Beer, wine, spirits etc (for christmas and any day with a "y" in it)
    Chocolate (no explaination needed)
    Christmas gifts (again, self explanitory).

Whilst we do not wish to appear greedy, if you could arrange for any/all of the above, as well as any other items that you think we would appreciate, then we would make sure that Mr Asda is not alone in the "PR coup" that we have created,

    Kind Regards,

    The 11+.
