I love to read and my holiday packing always included at least 6 paperbacks - played hel with my luggage allowance ! My DH kept banging on about a Kindle and I resisted for nearly 2 years as, like you, I didn't think it would be the same as a proper printed book. I loved the feel of a book and the sensation of turning pages - eventually I said that I would get one kust for use on holiday and I swore that I would still read normal books and visit the library when I was home.

Do you know, I got my Kindle 13 months ago - and I haven't been to the library since ! I am totally hooked and my Kindle is far more important to me than my mobile phone.

I have an amazon kindle on my laptop which I use alot at home. When on holiday I take 2 or 3 paperbacks and about 4 Take a Break mags with me. I read them and leave them behind.
I have been told by one hotel manager in Malgrat (Spain) that they have been told by various guests that they are pleased to find these and they are now building up a nice selection thanks to me and a couple of other people. :D
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

Stoll plodding along. The idea of the appt at the hosp rather than someone coming to our house was to get him out. Been having trouble trying to get him to leave the house.....but he managed ok.

And it was nice to leave the house without cleaning up this morning. We been having nurses/support workers etc everyday so constantly feel like I'm tidying up for them coming....leaving it like a tip and shutting the door ony way out was quite liberating:D

awww I bet, I know what you mean about always feeling like you have to tidy up before they come but im sure they would understand if it was a bit messy (probably even expect it lol). Must have been lovely just to forget about it though and close the door :D x

    Aternoon all
I may get shot down for this but i just had to have my say on the matter some of you have been discussing this morning about not going to work if you feel unwell or sending your kids to scool if they have a common cold or such things.
While i understand some of your points ie germs get spread about and a common cold is a bit more serious to some people, i really dont think you can keep your child away from school for it i want my children to get the best education they can and keeping them home for a few weeks a year as they have a cold does not sit right with me they miss so much work in a few wekks it is hard for them to catch up.
Second i work and if i kept calling in sick every time i had a cold i would be dismissed we can only be off a number of times in a 12 month period. some people do not get paid to if they dont go to work and not everyone can afford time off work
Sorry for rant i know everyone is entiteld to thier opion but i can see everyones point on this.

agreed :D, kids need to be exposed to a certain amount of germs to build up their immune system.....wrap them in cotton wool and the'll pick up everything going and turn in to the sicknotes of the future!

In Japan on the 1st of September every year the japanese start hunting whales and dolphins. Keeping the pretty ones for captive facilities and slaughtering the rest for meat. They are killed in the thousands some years. Watch The Cove if you have the stomach. A very emotional film.

When the cove is red that means there is blood in the water. When it is blue nothing has been caught. HTH.:A

Just watched the film :mad::mad::mad:- i just don't have words that can describe how i feel to be a human being after seeing the misery, pain and torture we inflict upon others - makes me sick to the core :(:(
