OP, does this noise come when you're driving uphill too?
My car is making a noise like you describe when I turn left, but also when going uphill (especially when it's cold).
Please let us know how you get on (agree that you must go back to the garage and tell them the noise is still there).Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -
Thanks everyone who posted something constructive. The car has been back in the garage for the second time and I have got it back today. They said that when they took it to bits again there was play between the drive shaft and reverse gear. They then told me that the part required has been discontinued and they have managed to weld something to fix the problem. It seems that the car is no longer making a noise when turning left but it is still making a noise when I reach higher speeds. I'm kind of at a loss now really. The garage said they will ring me on Monday to see how I have got on this weekend with it, so I suppose that's good. They are ademant it isn't the wheel bearings or cv joints.0
