Some of the best and most solid shower cubicle installations I've done have been with adjustable legs. There are many manufacturers out there that do brilliant 'easy-plumb' leg kits - but unfortunately there are a few rubbish ones. If building a plinth, it is v important to ensure that you can still gain access to the trap underneath, in case it leaks or needs replacing.
