HI, not sure if this is the right thread to use, so apologies if not.
Today I parked in a car park on a retail site you did not have to pay to park but was limited to 3 hours. Anyway it was full and 2 other cars had parked at the side where some building work was going on but boarded off. It had some white dotted line marked out near the boarding the width of a car, room for 3 so I parked behind them.
Anyway, came back after 1 hour and had an NCP ticket for £100 or £60 if paid within 7 days for not parking within a marked bay. Well it was a marked bay for something and there were no signs anywhere near this part that said no parking, we photographed the area as proof and found the chap who issued the ticket. He said we were not the only ones to argue the point and that we need to dispute with NCP.
My question is, it says on the ticket that they do not enter into any verbal contact and I have to write to contest the ticket. Now, if I do not pay and contest and eventually loose then do I have to pay the £100 or the £60?

Speak to them, otherwise they may pay it and get you to repay them.
Perhaps give NCP your details and hope they don't pursue the registered keeper.0
