Had new boiler fitted June & a number of times it is switching the radiators on for no reason-wireless controller still says heating off. Have had fitter out 3 times already & Glow worm last week-woke up this am boiling with radiators on!
All I want is a boiler I can control when it comes on>
Any ideas of cause? Reported again to Glow worm.

If the installer can't deal with it, call up Glow worm under warranty.

I would poke around the wiring centre myself,
but I expect you don't know what the terminals are doing,
    so don't.

What wiring centre? Its a combi!

Ask your installer to change the jumper settings on the wirefree receiver and sender unit. I had similar problems with customer who's neighbour had same boiler and RF stat fitted and they were turning each others heating on. You could suggest to the installer that he disconnects the RF unit altogether for a couple of days and just use the boiler controls?
Not sure if the pre-heat would create that problem unless its happening directly after the hot water has been run? I would think that a competant installer would have been able to check that one out?

Sorry, I was just thinking of my own Glow worm setup, which has the Glow worm Smart Wiring Centre, as well as a terminal strip dumb wiring centre.

I thought the RF units are paired at the factory?

Not using the Climapro 2 RF, I suppose.

Yes using the climapro controller that states heating off & yet radiators are on?
  • This is a long shot but have you asked your next door neighbours if they have any RF units fitted to their boilers? Its long shot but it may be a start.
They are paired in a factory but I'm not sure of the variables that two RF units set on the same jumper sequence could be close together.
I'd love to know if the OP finds the answer to this one?

Call Glowworm under warranty, since you are not using third party RF kit.

I went for the wired Climapro.

I had wireless door chimes, and went back to wired because the unfaithfull bell keeps hooking up with the next door's push button.

The wireless camera is intermittent because of too many walls.

    I hate wireless.

There is some sort of firmware issues with the climapro 2 unit, on mine the heating would only intermittently come on after jan 1 2012. Glow-worm said to reset the date to 2011 until they come up with a fix which I did and it has been perfect ever since.
