This is an interesting read seems ebay are weeding out bad buyers based on the number of cases raised and negs left and wholesale removing all feedback and DSR they have left anyone in the last year.
If they actually devote some serious manpower to this it would be a very positive step.

There is an interesting thread on the community board of a powerseller who has a buying account and has had a warning. Apparently having 7 issues a year on 300 purchases has meant all his poor feedback and low stars have been removed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The link's to Tamebay's report of that thread, Soo.Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.

Looking at this, it seems the policy has been implemented in the US, so presumably affects eBay.com rather than .uk .de .au etc?
Either way, it's a move forward. My own experience is that (proportionally) US buyers account for a high proportion of low DSR ratings and negative feedbacks and in at least one or two cases, it's pretty clear that the buyer is leapfrogging around eBay, almost routinely 'negging' for their own amusement."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

I do sort of agree, no one likes a serial negger, or someone hard to please, or spiteful. But I have been in eBay for many years and have a buying account and a selling account. I purchase probably 20-30 items a month as I buy very small craft items. Over the years I've left a couple of negatives, maybe three neutrals and have had a few cases where things have gone missing. I'm not a serial negger, and it takes a hell of a lot for me to open a case or leave negative feedback.
So my whole point is if they set that bar quite low, it should be over a year or something, because if say there is a magic number you hit and all those vanish, that's very unfair, because I've had a few bad experiences, although hundreds of great ones too. Over the years they add up without them being malicious in any way."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
So has this been happening a lot/elsewhere? Has anyone been positively affected and noticed a difference?
I know of a couple of low DSRs/negs received that were from serial complainers, I think they're over a year old though..0 -
I have to say that eBay really are a little more seller friendly.
I recently had a buyer with 7 feedback leave me a neg for INR after 8 days from purchase without any contact to advise. Wehn I looked at their feedback left they had left 3 negs, 1 neu & 1 positive mentioning that the item was an INR but seller was 'dealing' with it and then 2 normal +ve's so I contacted eBay to request feedback removal expecting them to tell me to do one but they actually removed it! I nearly fell of my chair when I received their email!0 -

I got a neutral removed recently although i had to phone. Live Help originally said no- but also gave me some shocking and incorrect advice on another matter (apparently according to Live help a seller can require immediate payment on auction format sales as well as a BIN!).
I just phoned Dublin and they removed the neutral immediately and even said they would review the transcript from Live help to see if agents were fully understanding the rules regarding the other issue I had.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ebays policy of 'encouraging' sellers to give in to blackmail BEFORE a case is opened - as made it easier for scammers to stay under the radar - as they don't have to file as many claims.
But some of the spiteful little cretins then still leave crappy feedback too - and don't realise that too leaves a trail.
I have not had a low DSR, a neutral or a neg in over a year - or a missing item for quite a while. Maybe Ebay are finally weeding out some of the buyers who make Ebay more difficult. Although, i have always been surprised just how many Ebayers are honest and decent - considering just how easy it as been to scam on Ebay.0
