I was with this insurance company from march to may, they cancelled my insurance due to asking for documents in a letter that went to another address (same number and postcode as me) I was driving round uninsured for a while as I never recieved any documentation saying it was cancelled.
Cue mad panic to get insurance which has now doubled due to declaring cancelled insurance. I called A&A to ask about a refund of the rest of the years premiums I paid and they said I had to sign a declaration etc (which they still managed to send to the wrong address the first time round). Ive finally got this declaration which asks me my reasons for cancelling and gives me the lines about if ive had an accident while with them they will chase me for the premium back.
Its too late now as I have new insurance but does this mean they are saying I cancelled rather than them so I wouldnt of had to declare a cancelled policy against me? Or would the cancelled policy stand even if it was the holder that cancelled?

Do you still have the Chaucer Certificate?0

They asked me to return it along with the signed declaration0

They'll be wanting the declaration then to confirm there are no claims or accidents they're not aware about so they can arrange a refund. Although knowing Chaucer there will be no or very little refund.0

Yeah they're apparently giving me 160 back from 580 for the privilege of 2 months cover! Love the way they word half the money you give them into it as various charges and then tell you they keep 50% and charge 50 or something for cancellation, atleast !!!!!! turpin wore a mask when he robbed people!0
