How can I make Morrisons flower buckets 'pretty'?
Just wondering if anyone has any tips on making the Morrisons flower buckets (8 for 99p) look a bit 'prettier'. I want to grow some early potatoes in these, but have a feeling my landlord won't be too happy with a load of black buckets in the garden. I've got some car primer spray I got from poundland I was thinking of using under some interior gloss in nice colours, but have a feeling this will just wash off in the rain. Does anyone know if this will work? I only want to paint the outside of the buckets so there shouldn't be a problem with toxins etc getting into the soil.
Also, if I paint the gloss onto wood, do you think that would last?
Many thanks in advance for any tips anyone can give me,
Acerfan

To be honest, I just paint anything with any kind of paint I fancy and it usually turns out ok. The car primer spray sounds ideal and I don't think the gloss would wash off.
I painted some grotty rubbish bins with stone coloured masonry paint with some sand added to it a few years ago. The advice I was given at the time was that masonry paint would never last on plastic, but it's still going strong yet.A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0 -
Speaking of painting any old thing, I recently bought from the recycle dump, a fibre glass/ or plastic tall coal scuttle, someone had already drilled holes in the base. So once I've painted it and planted it up, it will give hight to my displaysThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
