Just checked you OP - the salary scale seems more than what is currently listed as band 4 - wondering if I have an old sheet i.e. without this years payrise on?

I don't think the April 2007 payscale has been published yet, it's certainly not on the NHS Employers site and I havent been able to track it down anywhere else on the internet. If I recall correctly, everyone gets a 1% raise in April and then a further 1.5% in October. Don't spend it all at once!

Hi.... thanks everyone for your replies. My offer letter states that my pay band is 4 and Salary Scale is POINT 9.

    Hope that helps.

In Band 4, point 9 is one of the transitional points so is actually below the bottom of the true band 4 points. This point is due to disappear (I can't remember if it goes in April (i.e. now) or in October. Point 9 was £15107 but there has been a pay award from April 2007. I think it is 1.5% from now and 1% from Nov

The transitional points should only be used if there is someone else in the same department doing the same job who is on a transitional point. Otherwise you should be able to argue starting at least on the true bottom point of band 4. Prior to the April pay rise this was £16405 (point 12)

So you need to clarify that your new salary will have the increase applied to it, once it has been agreed ;)
