I have a friend who has just diagnosed with a serious illness. On top of everything she is worried about coping money wise. She says she has full sick pay for 3 months. I thought it was 6 months? Which is it please and if its only 3 months, is there anything else she can claim?

She should check her contract of employment for the sick pay detail. After that she should be able to receive Statutory sick pay. Any other benefits (eg help with rent) will depend on her personal circumstances0

It depends on how much reckonable service she has.

thanks! She has been with the NHS for almost 30 years. When she said it was 3 months I thought there might have been a recent chamge. That's one less thing to worry about for the time being.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0
