Areas of London for £200k budget

Hello,
We are considering a move to London since my partner got a job there and is currently having to rent a room. He lives in Brent Cross and tubes it to Angel for the job. Brent Cross seems to be a nice enough area, and you can get a 1-2 bed flats for that budget. Not knowing London too well I would like to hear any suggestions to other areas we could look into. I'm expecting the outskirts for our budget as long as there is a tube station within a mile.
Many thanks.

If he's working in the Angel area it might make sense to look at north and/or north-east London. For £200k you could get a two-bed flat, possibly with a share of freehold and a garden in Walthamstow, E17. From W Central tube station it would take about 30-40 minutes to get to Angel.
Or maybe Wanstead, which is nice and quiet but with a longer travel-time0 -
I would stay away from Walthamstow..... But Chingford is a nice area with easy access of Walthamstow tube and Highams Park national rails to Liverpool street. £200k would get you a nice 2 bed flat, or even 2 bed house requiring some modernisation.0

I found some in our area which is West London Northolt, we've lived here 17yrs and it has its nice bits and its not so nice bits like everywhere else... it has a Central Line tube 5min bus or 12 min walk takes you to Tottenham Court Rd, then onto the Northern Line for the Angel

Thank you for everyones replies. Chingford seems quite far from a tube station and having one in walking distance is important. But the North area looks like a good shout.0
