Decent soap alternative to Pears'?

Since Pears' went a few years ago, the only other seemingly quality soap I was able to get from the supermarket was Wright's but other people in the house don't like the smell, and I can't afford the stuff they sell in those posh shops, does anybody know anywhere where I can get a half decent soap for around about the pound or less a bar mark?

I still see Pears Soap, my friend buys it all the time. Usually small chemists sell it.0

I don't know why she buys it, and I wish people wouldn't.
That's not Pears' anymore that went 3 years ago, it's just an ordinary cheap soap branded as Pears.0 -
I like the soap marketed as Pears. It is translucent as it has always been. I was unaware that it was any different than in the past. They also do a liquid hand wash which is nice.0

Me too - it smells the same as I remember, looks how i remember it and works brilliantly for my face !!! Not a fan of the shower gel though, so am reluctant to use the hand wash.Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -

Knight's Castile is a nice, mild soap. I've seen it in pound shops so you can pick it up quite cheaply.0

It is owned by Univlever and is now actually manufactured in India. I still see it in loads of shops, so there is no shortage.
I always used to use Pears, but don't bother now.
Waitrose do some lovely glycerine soaps under their own label for around £1.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Personally, I like Dove.0

Alkaline soap is really bad for the skin: it destroys the protective acid mantle, strips lipids from the structure itself. You might try making your own liquid soap with a bar product, if you add vinegar you can make it gentler on the skin and make the product stretch further.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
