Beko washing machine problem

I have a Beko wme7247wwashing machine thats developed a fault.

last night we noticed the washing was still soaking , so i presumed the filter was clogged . I've cleaned this and checked the hose for blockage and all seemed clear .
i've now tried to drain and spin the washing however all that happens is you can hear the pump to drain click in then click off and then nothing , the programme seems stuck at 18 mins to cycle end.
I then cancelled this programme and reset to a quick wash cycle , all this does is fills the drum with water then the programme sticks at 37 min to end of cycle and does no more.

Does anyone else have any ideas what else i could check

  • im no washing machine expert but have you tried disconnecting the machine by the plug and then trying again.sounds like some sort of motherboard problem if its getting stuck like that. we have the same machine and have always been worried about the technological side of it. cant beat a ticking knob programme function, as opposed to a computer chip
Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.
  • Was going to post my problem until I read your post.We have exactly the same problem with our Servis M6505 washing machine , although ours isnt a digital dial. We've tried emptying the filter of about 20 paperclips and also checking the hose if its kinked or blocked.Have just tried a quickwash but have ended up emptying the water out by hand again. Can hear it trying to drain but then it just buzzes and doesnt drain.
Our is about 4 Years old and this is about the longest time we have gone without buying a new washer.
Sorry to join in with your post jesadie but thought if somebody had an answer it would kill two birds........................

    Thanks

  • first thing i would check is the pump & impeller it sounds like something is stuck in there, you may need to take the back off or turn the machine on it's back/side to get at it disconnect one of the hoses & make sure the impeller is moving freely
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
  • Thanks for the replies . The pump seems to be working properly as it seems to be draining , The impeller is also free as i can rotate it with my fingers .

it just seems as though the drum motor is not working.
  • Hi,

maybe belt has broken or slipped off, do you feel a resistance when spinning drum or does it spin freely?
  • I've taken the top off and the belt is still in place and can not see anything untoward , one of my friends has suggested it maybe the motor brushes and this could be causing a problem with the motor not cutting in and is the reason the countdown timer may not be moving on as the next stage of the programme as not started , does this sound feasible?

I wrote a basic washing machine fault finding guide which is here but, problems can differ by brand and even by model or series.

It does sound as if it could be a heater issue though.

Brushes would be very unlikely to cause the symptoms you describe.

I have no drive on the drum at all , it will not spin if set to spin and drain or will not even rotate on any of the programmes , it use to do a few rotations while the drum was filling up and the warming up it except now it does not do anything :( except fill up and drain)

is there a way of checking the heater before replacement before i purchase (i've found one online for £20)
  • Hi,

here's a wee video if you want to check out or replace the brushes, not your make, but same procedure

If needed search online for carbon brushes for your make and model.
