Are you sure you are on a split rate, what do screens 09,10 & 17 on the meter read ?

Their standard break point is at 2500 kWh per year / 6.85 per day. If and how this applies to prepay meters I cannot say.0 -
09 - 8.4
10 - 3.8
17 - 0.0
not quite exact readings cos it's absolutely bucketing it down outside to read the meter

So you are on dual tariff then. Have you tried using a comparison site, they will show you how your current tariff is made up. The best option may be to give them a call.0

yeah i went on energyhelpline and it said on there what my teir rates were and that it was on teir one for first 620kwh a quater, guess the main question was how the meter worked it out, if it is quaterly then hopefully after it's used about £50 this quater should drop to lower rate, if it's daily then the stupid amount of gas i used last night is what i can expect through the winter

I'm pretty sure it's essentially worked out, pro rata, on a daily basis, but uses a fiddle factor where on any particular day you do not use all your tier 1 units, so that the full 620kWh tier 1 units are charged in a quarter (assuming you use that amount)0
