The seller doesn't want to refund and the item is not working

  • Restoring a phone to factory settings will not break a phone. If you somehow hacked into the phone to jailbreak/root it, then he may have a case, but all you did was use a standard feature of the phone.

He can claim all he likes, but I'm pretty certain that once you've shown it's been delivered or attempted to be delivered, you'll automatically get your money back, whether your seller likes it or not!

Thank you. I am very stressed as this is high value, I am afraid I am going to loose twice...
The seller threatened that he will open a case that I broke the phone as he has my first email where I said that I pressed restore to factory settings ... and apparently this broke" the phone.
Can he claim with ebay after I send the phone back that I damaged it and I lose both the money and the broken phone ? sorry, I just don't know how it works

If they have told you to send it back, make sure you do it.

The seller can appeal but the likelihood is that ebay will tell them to take the matter up elsewhere.

You will get your refund. So send it sooner rather than later.

It was delivered today but in the case it still says awaiting delivery
.... Is there something I can do ?
when will I receive the refund ?

I am never buying anything of ebay more than £20 ... there is no real customer service to help with the claim, just an automated service, and my £200 are somewhere... :(

did you upload the tracking number to Ebay? as suggested. You now need to go back to the case and contact Ebay again to say the phone has been delivered back to the seller. Keep them informed all the time and they will get round to refunding you.

Just phone ebay (or whoever dispute was opened with), tell them the tracking says delivered, and ask them to refund and close the case. They usually do.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Yes, I put the tracking in 2 days ago.
There is nothing that I can do on the case. It says "You don't need to do anything else. Awaiting item delivery". I have no option to leave another message.

I cannot find any number to call ebay.

I can't find the ebay number to hand, but keep looking, as they should just refund and close the case. Worked for me when the tracking showed attempted delivery!
